↳ BitMart announced an orderly shutdown after 9 years, the second exchange to close this week after BitMEX. BMX crashed 58%. All trading ends August 26.
↳ Ripple launched Ripple Mint, giving institutions direct API and UI access to mint and manage RLUSD. The NYDFS-regulated stablecoin has crossed $1.6B in circulation.
↳ Kalshi rolled out a midterms hub for the 2026 US elections, aggregating live prediction market odds with polling and fundraising data. Nearly $200M already wagered on midterm outcomes.
↳ Russia's State Duma passed a crypto law with 340 votes, legalizing Bitcoin and digital assets for international trade settlement while banning domestic payments. Takes effect September 1.
